Model: Angela Burt
Downtown Seattle, Greenlake-Seattle, WA
What an exciting shoot with Angela in her first ‘full’ modeling shoot! I had to get her into her element, but as soon as she got into her favorite outfits and into the athletic side she opened up that intensity that brings in Sports U’s big clients such as Nike, Adidas and REI. Angela was a former collegiate basketball player and trackster in Washington and is a recent college graduate.
Check out what a sample composite card of Angela looks like:
Too much fun networking with a diverse variety of talented professionals, many of which are sources of inspiration for their clients and business practice. I had the opportunity to photography 25 business professionals in a relaxing ‘on-location’ style in less than 2 1/2 hrs…phew! Thankfully we had an overwhelming turnout, including two non-Bizniks and two Bizniks that simply showed up without an RSVP because they were so excited for this event!
Check out the collage and see who had fun at our event. Way to rock your sessions everyone!

“Work those sunglasses,” I kept saying to Alexis, who definitely got a good laugh watching me ‘work the glasses’ myself as an example! We went into the shoot with some classy and elegant wardrobe, with some images of the late Princess Di as an example (see Mario Testino). We started in the studio with three different lighting setups and three fun outfits, then headed out to the Seattle waterfront area to finish our session. ‘Lexi’ is very photogenic…and as some gals, didn’t think so. But as you’ll see, she’s definitely a natural in front of the camera! -JM

After starting in the studio in downtown Seattle, Casey’s session went outdoors into Pioneer Square then finished up around Green Lake in Seattle. Casey had previously had senior portraits done with another photographer but was unhappy with the results so after talking with his mother we decided to give it another go and try to produce variety and killer images that Casey, his friends and family, and mom would love!! Check out what we accomplished:
Following my morning modeling test shoot with David Lewis, I was lucky enough to have a few hours before heading into another cool session, this time with a photographer acquaintence of mine. We started on Mercer Island at a fun local park, then off to downtown Ballard for some urban scenes, and finished at Golden Gardens beach to catch some great sunset rays! And yes…I’m a little sunburned today! -JM

Since last July when I returned from working as a supervisor at the World Series of Poker, I have been working towards becoming a ‘preferred’ photographer for the Northwest’s top modeling agencies. In the last three months I have finally had the opportunity to network with the top three NW agencies: SMG (Seattle Models Guild/cleints Nordstrom, Macy’s, etc), Sports Unlimited (client list: Nike, Adidas USA, REI, etc.) and Heffner Management in Seattle. Here’s a sample shoot with SMG model, Mike Rose, shot around downtown Seattle and Lake Union.
Although Mike was 45min late to his appointment, we made it work and did a little shopping downtown at J.Crew and Urban Outfitters before jumping into his session. Somehow we were able to nail six different outfits in about two hours, and hopefully we’ll get to do some athletic stuff later this week (Mike played baseball for about 10 years). We’ll hope that his agency loves the images and wants to keep me in their loop! -JM
What a cool sunrise!
What a great time here with 80-degree sun, lots of wilderness, great creative people and great food! Had so much fun i wanted to shoot Bend-local model that I went out and found Ashley here for this special session…enjoy!!

Woke up at 6:30am to catch the great mountain morning light in Bend with my model ‘Ashley’ who just happened to be visiting in town from Boise when we connected for a great 4hr shoot to jumpstart my last day in Bend for the PPO Conference summer retreat. Enjoy!

Testimonial from Ashley: Here’s a copy of the text message she sent me following our morning session: “That was so much fun! Thank you so much, I really appreciated our shoot. You were a blast to shoot with! Would love to shoot again with you sometime…I wish we had more time!”
